Sewing and shopping, shopping and sewing...

I have been out of action for a few days, a bad (and my first ever!) bout of tonsillitis added to the school holidays have led to a bit of a craft shutdown. So last night, I decided I needed something to get me back on track, so began making something to enter in the Softie Awards,

After a quick trawl through all my images on Flickr, I decided that as this cat has proved popular, (it's been favorited by 67 people!), that was the pattern I would work from, plus I have a felted jumper in a really soft pink, which I've been dying to cut into when the right project came along.  It's not finished yet, but I'm hoping to get my entry in before the weekend.

Luckily, my credit card hasn't been affected by illness, and I did start to get a few deliveries of things I ordered last week,

lovely new books and embroidery thread,

and some pattern booklets and a rather lovely Elephant kit from Sewing Stars and Wee Wonderfuls.

If that little lot doesn't inspire me to get back to crafting, I don't know what will!!

Argh, sympathies on the tonsillitis - I had it a few weeks back and haven't felt that unwell for years.

The colour pallet on the books is enough to get me inspired!

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Gosh, poor you ... I've never had tonsilitis *touch wood* but know it can be very nasty.

That cat you made was one of my favourites of your 'makes' and I'm sure that pink one is going to be absolutely adorable. Can't wait to see it finished.

Get well soon. x

What wonderful packages! I am really looking forward to see what you create and see your finished piece for the softie awards :) I have never had tonsilitis but have heard it's a sore and tiring so glad you are on the mend. Lx

wow - there is so much eye candy here. The pink kitty looks like she will be lovely - if you get shortlisted I'll definitely vote for her.

I also have book envy!

Hope you are on the mend soon and you have some fab books too. Whats the other softies book like, as I have the spiral bound book?

Sympathies - having just had a couple of bouts myself. I blame the little germ factories (daughter and son) LOL

The cat looks lovely. How do you stop the wool from distorting when you stuff it? Or is the felting so tight that this problem is overcome?

Hope u feel back to normal soon

Sorry to hear about your tonsillitis. Hope you get well soon. That pink kitten looks adorable, even though you can't really see it in full :) And I see a bunny pattern - cuteness!

I LOVE all the shopping and that cat is adorable. Rosie arrived this morning and I just have to tell you how absolutely beautiful she is and she is so well made. I know my girls are going to love her - I might have to keep her for me! And wow some gorgeous fabrics too! I'm making a scrappy quilt for my couch and those are all PERFECT!! Thanks so much for your wonderful generosity, you have made my day!

I just love your work, wonderful ideas, fabrics....your blog is so inspiring!
I always wanted to create my own softie...and I finally did! Rosie was my inspiration, and I've made Stefan the Cat (you can find it on my blog)

I was dying to enter but the deadline is before I am reunited with my sewing machine. Grr.
Hope you've fully recovered from your tonsilitis x
