Edited to add - I posted this, then deleted it while I contacted Monsoon, but have since decided to post it again as I've since purchased one of these keyrings and it's even more similar in real life than it looks in the picture.

ReplyDeleteI have seen tons of owl patterns out there, but that one sure looks exactly like yours, even the fabric on the front. Sadly it happens to all of us. I had someone buy one of my patterns, then take a design from it and change a few things, then sell it as her own.

It's a rip off alright! I've heard about Monsoon doing this before. Because they are such a big company they can get away with it. Contact Mumsnet and get them to veto the shop! They'll lose loads of customers. By the way - turned over my sewing calendar yesterday to find your fabric toadstool. Still as cute as ever.

Well, at first I would be very very flattered about seeing 'my' design in a leading chain store, then, I would be well and truly hacked off that I hadn't been given any credit or worth for my design. Very sad. Hope you sort it out with good results.
