Toadstools for Etsy

I really want to add some toadstools to my next range for Etsy. 'Pink' has been on hold as the fabric I have on order hasn't arrived yet, so working with what I already have in my stash, I came up with the idea of adding a butterfly.

In addition to the buttons on the top, I've embroidered seeding and some french knots,

and used part of a thrifted crochet doilie (or is it doily?, how do you spell that word?!) to add decoration to the stalk.

The butterfly is actually a brooch and is removable!

PS, Don't forget about the toadstool swap, deadline for signing up is Friday 16th May (see the previous post for details)

beautiful... its really lovely.. and I love the new Title Image too! I would join your swap but my sewing is not up to it.. I could probably draw or paint a toadstool though... *ponders the thought*

oh and love the use of the doily too!

Lovely new header, and gorgeous toadstool-and-butterfly combination. If I didn't have the current stresses, I'd definitely be in your swap ... hopefully you'll do another in future.

Take care. x

That's lovely! One day I will pluck up the courage to make a 3D thing but I doubt it would be as pretty :)

LK - I love the fabric on this one. Very 'vintage' looking. Plus, the butterfly is a lovely touch.

I'm still not a big fungus fan though ;-p

What an adorable toadstool. I love the butterfly. I was just wondering if the sign up date in this post is a typo at June 16th since the previous post has May 16th as the signup due date. I'm already signed up, but I was just wondering. :)
