This weekend...,

I have been gardening, while the others have been lego-ing!

It can't be tidied away.  So I've been told.  It's all catalogued.  Apparently.

Now a small plea for help!

I have been asked to make a christening present for a girl.  They like Beatrix Potter, I have some Peter Rabbit prints, but am so far stumped as to what to make.  Any ideas, links etc would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

    karren, it's from a uk website called the cotswold company, but i think they've closed down now. shame, as we have 2 of those rugs.

    Could you use the fabric to cover a photo album? Maybe quilt it and add buttons/beads etc?
    Or make up into some sort of bag - nappy or book bag?
    What about some bunting with the child's name appliquéd on.
    Love the Lego - I came down to a similar sight this morning, although not beautifully colour sorted - just one big heap!

    A rattle! Cut out the profile of the bunny and leave extra on the bottom- to make a loop for Baby's hand to grasp. Put a cat toy in the stuffing- one with a bell.

    That's such a familiar scene. My boys were Lego fanatics and still like to play! I can't think of anything unique for a gift but I know you will make something wonderful!

    My first thought is always a small quilt. If you have the Peter Rabbit panel you are halfway done. Or, maybe a doll with the dress in the fabric.

    Just because it's Beatrix Potter doesn't mean it has to be Peter Rabbit. The house in the Lake District has the most darling gardens. BP was very interested in that kind of creativity as well as her books and drawings. Perhaps you could be inspired by that?

    Hi,
    I think if you have the fabric, you could make a Bible cover with your added flare. There are several children's bibles that I purchase for Christenings and then add a savings bond as part of the gift. You could make the fabric bible cover, a matching bookmark with beautiful ribbon and maybe a matching keepsake box for all the cards and momentos the baby receives that day.
    Just a thought...hope it helps a little.

    Hi,

    my son would build up a giant spaceship out of those lego bricks!

    My daughter got a cuddly patchwork blanket from her godmother - she can´t sleep without it (now she´s 3.5yo)

    So I made a small quilt for my nephew and later on for my niece.

    Maybe a little set of a blanket and a rattling rabbit would be nice?

    Or an matching onesie with an appliqueed rabbit on it?

    Have fun sewing with those lovely fabrics!

    make up a feltie type cover for a little scrap book...something like a 5x7. I could just see you making a cute little bunny, etc.

    How about a bunny on wheels, using your fabric to dress the bunny. There is also an old craft book that has all the patterns from the original Beatrix Potter designs. A great resource for ideas.

    You could do a picture with some of the characters? like an embroidery or tapestry.
