Crafty eye candy...,

Al has been away in Singapore for a week, there wasn't much I asked him to bring back, just this Japanese Craft Book, 'Animal Mascot', which I've had my eye on for weeks.

Very cute penguin and seal pattern,

and Crocodiles to name but a few.

But he also picked up the May issue of 'Cotton Time',

love this issue, there are a few softie patterns, in amongst,

a whole heap of quilting ideas.

All the eye candy got the creative ideas going at the weekend, and I started playing around with fabric...!

I'd better get on with the sewing!

  7. I love Japanese craft books. I live in Japan so it's hard not to become addicted to them when they are so readily available to me.
I am thinking of trying to make some mascots and stuffed animals - wondering how hard it will be for me!
Your new project in the hoop is so beautiful. I cannot wait to see how it turns out.

  13. Ooh the sewing machine block looks good. Been taking part in a quilting block/quilting bee which has been streching my skills like an elastic band over the past couple of months! They are lovely books and mags though aren't they. They ahve a special style all of their own.

  14. I know this was posted a while ago - I loved your blog so much I lost track of time reading back through your archives!

I have Animal Mascot, I got it a while ago, but your post rekindled the reason I bought it - SUCH CUTE ANIMALS! Thank you! Sometimes it's so easy to forget what inspiration we have tucked away on our bookshelves/craft shelves.

I must make some beanie filled crocodiles to hug on the couch.
