Embroidery,

We are having an unexpected weekend at home, after packing the car at 9am this morning, and setting off for the Lake District to visit grandparents, we had to turn back, just 10 miles from home as Lucy threw up!  So, being a person who tries hard to always look on the bright side, I've spent the rest of the day doing all those little, lingering jobs round the house that I never get round to doing.  My tupperware cupboard is tidy, and Lucy's bedroom curtains now hang how they are supposed to.  This evenings job will be to make a start on the only 2 christmas presents I'm making this year, so it's a good job I got in a little flower practice earlier this week!

I'm actually really looking forward to these projects.  The flowers are totally made by hand...,

I love hand embroidery, there is something utterly fascinating about the way a needle and thread can turn a small amount of fabric and felt into something really special.  Not only that, it is both relaxing and theraputic to complete.

Which part of your crafting do you enjoy the most?

    I love coming to the end of a knitting project that has probably taken me weeks to finish. To see all of the pieces sewn up & it actually looking like the picture on the pattern. It's the best bit!

    I just recently found your blog and I must say, I love your designs! My favorite part about crafting is the process. I enjoy taking the time to just sit and create. I have half a dozen projects going at one time and never stress about finishing them quickly (except for the ones I'm making for gifts!).

    That flower is just beautiful. I love craft and sewing, and have found myself more and more these days, turning to the sewing machine as a form of relaxation. I also enjoy hand quilting - very relaxing. Lots of people can't understand, but this bloggy world has some understanding of this. I also REALLY enjoy holding the hose in my garden at the end of a long day.

    I'm loving this flower - and your fabric twigs from a couple of posts ago too. Very pretty.

    It's a funny thing, but one of my favourite bits of crafting usually happens when I have sewn something inside out (normally a softie). I just love the part where you turn it out, because until this happens, you're never really sure how it will look - its like a little surprise every time - and I always get a little jerk of excitement and anticipation in my tummy.

    If I look at the end results, I love my sewing projects the most. But I find crocheting very relaxing, you have to keep your focus to the counting, and it's not a difficult thing to do, so for me it feels like meditation.

    Since I'm currently making cat and dog beds, I think it is so satisfying to see my customers relaxing on something I made!

    you have a tupperware CUPBOARD? I do worry about you sometimes ;)

    My most favourite bit of crafting is the planning, deciding what I'm going to make, and choosing fabrics. That gets me all a quiver!

    My favorite part of crafting is when I can sit and get cozy and do handwork. Knitting, embroidery... that's my favorite! Oh, and the finishing, of course, because when something is finished- it's time to celebrate!

    Love the flowers - lucky people who will get them as gifts! My favourite part would be sitting in front of the tv and sewing it all together. Although I also love choosing the fabric, and usually come back from the shop with more than I need, which requires me to find ANOTHER project to use the remaining fabric on! All fun and games really!

    Great flower! My favourite bit of crafting is trying to make the colours match and be the best combination they can be.

    This flower is so so lovely - I think I like finishing things best and standing back and thinking 'I'm proud of that' ... it doesn't happen so often!!
